Bridge Repairs Next Year

The well-traveled masonry arch bridge that carries East High Street traffic across Sanatoga Creek near North Sanatoga Road will be closed for between four and six months late next year as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation makes repairs.

One wall of the bridge (see video above) is leaning. Minor cracks are evident throughout the 300-foot span. And a new barrier must be erected to keep vehicles from going over a road shoulder, according to a highway planner.

The bridge was last closed for repairs during 2004. Penn DOT will create a detour around the bridge during the closure.
