More than 44 million Americans care for an aging parent or relative, according to the Rite Aid pharmacy chain. To help them, the company yesterday (Sept. 23, 2008) said it launched a new program for caregivers that offers print and online resources, informational videos, expert advice, and a Web chat-and-support group.
Called “Giving Care for Parents,” the program was being made available in Rite Aid stores across the country, including its 2217 E. High St., Sanatoga, location.
A 20-page caregivers guide is being distributed free within stores. It covers financial planning, strategies for caregivers to balance careers and personal lives, and advice for living with those who need care. The guide also has information on support groups, programs, and medical facilities and businesses that cater to seniors and caregivers. Other components are available online.
