Executive sessions, during which personnel matters were said to be discussed, occupied the Lower Pottsgrove (PA) Township Board of Commissioners both before and after its regular meeting Thursday night (Oct. 23, 2008).
The board gathered at 6:15 p.m., 45 minutes before its 7 p.m. public meeting, for the first executive session. A hand-written sign, taped to the door of the Buchert Road administration building’s conference room, told audience members they would not be allowed in until the session was finished.
As board President Bruce Foltz opened the regular meeting, township Solicitor R. Kurtz Holloway noted the board would “reserve the right to meet again in executive session” after official public business was conducted. “No official action of any kind” was taken during the initial executive session, Holloway added.
The board meeting was short. Commissioners ran through an agenda of about a dozen items within 30 minutes, and once it was completed they convened a second executive session of unknown length. It was not known this morning (at 6:59 a.m.) whether any board action or decision was made after the second session.
