A limited number of FREE flu shots is being made available by St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Reading PA because it said it had a surplus of vaccine. The no-cost shots will be distributed today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Boscov’s Department Store in Coventry Mall, Route 100 at Route 724, Pottstown PA. For information, call 610-988-4357.

“Advances In Infertility Care,” a talk featuring Dr. Shahab Minassian about new techniques in overcoming infertility will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Comfort Inn, 99 Robinson St., Pottstown PA. The lecture is sponsored by The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Lower Pottsgrove residents can learn more about colorectal and prostate cancer during a free educational seminar scheduled by the Montgomery County PA Health Department for 6 p.m. in the third-floor conference room at Pottstown Borough Hall, 100 High St., Pottstown. Cancer symptoms, risk factors, screening guidelines and prevention will be discussed, and free materials will be distributed. Participants may register by email here.

Advice on what families can do now to prepare for advanced long-term health care planning will air at 1 p.m. as an hour-long Internet broadcast from the website (http://www.naela.org) of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
