Motorcycle enthusiasts and lovers of powersports and all-terrain vehicles need wait only 12 months for a show to call their own, being held just 12 miles east of Sanatoga village center.
The first annual Philadelphia Motorcycle Show, featuring all manner of motorized toys, has been scheduled for Oct. 9-11, 2009, in the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, 100 Station Ave. (behind the Route 422 Business Center), Oaks PA. New Jersey-based D&D Expositions announced in a Tuesday (Oct. 28, 2008) press release that it would present the 200,000-square-foot show, part of which will be dedicated to vendors of “moto-inspired aftermarket gear and accessories.”
Pennsylvania ranks fourth in the nation for new motorcycles sold; only dealers in California, Florida and Texas sell more, according to D&D Show Manager David Mockus. Even in what he called an “unstable economic environment,” motorcycle sales in Pennsylvania are expected to increase more than 7% this year, Mockus said.
Of 800,000 motocycle drivers registered in the Keystone State, he added, more than 150,000 live within a 25-mile radius of Oaks.
