Annual Audits Authorized

In what is part of a year-end ritual, the Lower Pottsgrove (PA) Township Board of Commissioners last week (Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008) agreed to pay $14,400 to have an independent auditor check the accuracy of financial records and bookkeeping for the township, its tax collector, and its two fire companies.

The township will pay $9,842 for the audit of its books, $1,520 for the tax collector, $1,540 for Ringing Hill Fire Company, and $1,695 for the Sanatoga Fire Company. The audits should be completed within six weeks, township Manager Rodney Hawthorne said.
