POTTSTOWN PA – Rite Aid pharmacies in North Coventry (PA) Township and Collegeville PA will offer one-day flu clinics later this month to help customers stay healthy this season, but the Sanatoga Rite Aid store is NOT participating in the promotion.

Shots in North Coventry, 1140 Town Square Rd., will be given next Wednesday (Nov. 19, 2008) from 2-6 p.m.; and in Collegeville, 222 Main St., next Thursday (Nov. 20, 2008), also from 2-6 p.m.

Flu shots are available at a cost of $30 for most customers, and free for patients with Medicare Part B health coverage. Pneumonia shots are available for $45. No appointment is necessary, and shots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Flu season typically begins in the United States in mid-November and continues through mid-May, with the highest concentration of cases occurring between December and April. Flu symptoms include headache, chills, body aches, fever, fatigue, sore throat and dry cough. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises that the single best way to prevent the flu is to get a flu shot each fall.
