School Directors Expel Student

A Pottsgrove High School student, identified only as Student “A,” was formally expelled from school Tuesday night (Dec. 2, 2008) in disciplinary action approved by the Pottsgrove School District Board of School Directors.

The board’s printed agenda, made available to the public, indicated the student’s name was being withheld to protect his or her confidentiality. The cause of the expulsion was not listed on the agenda, nor was it discussed by board members.

“As unfortunate as this is, and it’s never the type of thing you want to do, it’s encouraging this is just Student A” – only the first to be expelled –  after three months of the 9-month school year, said board President Michael Neiffer.
