LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – The township Zoning Hearing Board, which meets only as needed, will convene a hearing Jan. 20 (2009; Tuesday) on the application of a Ringing Rocks couple regarding proposed construction of a two-story addition to their home.
The board’s announcement was published Saturday (Jan. 3, 2009) in The (Pottstown PA) Mercury, Lower Pottsgrove’s newspaper of record for legal notices.
Jeffrey W. and Jennifer Lewis, owners of 1100 Ringing Rocks Park, Pottstown PA, applied late last year for relief from the township ordinance to build the addition, which will include an attached second-story deck and patio. They seek the board’s agreement for an addition in an R-1 district that has less side and rear yard space than the law allows, and which also is larger than permitted.
The ordinance governs where and how a building can be located, and how much space is required between buildings and the edges of the property on which they sit. The board gathers information during its hearings to determine if variances from the ordinance should be granted. Members of the public may attend the hearings and, if interested, offer comments to the board.
The hearing will be held in the township municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd., Sanatoga PA. The board’s chairman is David Marsteller, and its solicitor is Robert Brant.
