WASHINGTON DC – Congressman Charlie Dent, who represents Lower Pottsgrove (PA) Township and the rest of Pennsylvania’s 15th District in the House of Representatives, was appointed Friday to the House Ethics Committee of the just-installed 111th Congress.
The committee, formally known as the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, investigates ethical allegations against members of Congress. The Committee also reviews proposed changes to the Code of Conduct and oversees ethics training for congressional staffers.
The committee “has never been more relevant than it is today,” Dent said. “The American people have high expectations” for the ethical conduct of their elected officials, he added, “and I take that charge very seriously.”
