Pottsgrove Middle Students Strut Their Stuff

POTTSTOWN PA – Dozens of students from Pottsgrove Middle School sang and danced Tuesday night (Feb. 10, 2009) in front of the Pottsgrove (PA) School District Board of School Directors, giving its members a taste of the rollicking good time expected during the kids’ upcoming spring musical. The middle schoolers’ performed “What Time Is It?,” a number from Disney’s “High School Musical 2.”

The large group had undoubtedly hoped to be ushered in quickly, do its number, and depart to cheers and applause. They settled for two out of three.

Before the teens got the chance to strut their stuff, they patiently endured a 37-minute lesson in civic government. Their performance was delayed by a discussion among board members over the prospect of refinancing millions of dollars in district bonds to save almost $200,000 in interest costs. There was barely a sound from the back of the cafeteria, where students were gathered, as directors did their business.

After finally taking the floor, the middle schoolers’ showed off what weeks of planning and preparation can yield. They sang on key, they cartwheeled flawlessly, and they ended with smiles.
