Radio Exec Discusses Target Marketing

GILBERTSVILLE PA – Finding innovative and creative ways to target their markets should be a mandate for all businesses, radio station manager  Blaise Howard believes, but he thinks it’s particularly important when a company’s prime market is women.

Howard, vice president and general manager of Philadelphia radio station WBEB-FM (B101), notes that 1-in-18 women are business owners; that 40 percent of all U.S. businesses are operated by women; that 40 percent of business travelers are women; and that more than 57 percent of single women are home owners. Every business, he says, must pay attention to those demographics in order to profit.

Howard was the guest speaker recently during the latest meeting of the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce Women of the Workforce (WOW), held at Gilbertsville’s Bella Vista Golf Course. The event was sponsored by Kelly Insurance Agency Inc., and Tri-County Area Federal Credit Union.

The WOW group meets monthly, and will next gather April 16 (2009; Thursday) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Spring Hollow Golf Course in Spring City PA to hear Jill M. Michal, president of the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, talk on “Philanthropy – Getting a Good Return on Your Investment.”
