LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Students at Pottsgrove and other high schools across Pennsylvania were encouraged Wednesday (April 15, 2009) by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to apply to attend its free summer residential camps for those interested in environmental careers.

Each of two camps will introduce up to 25 selected students in 10th through 12th grades to jobs in conservation and the environment. The winners will get a “hands-on, team-building learning experience in an outdoor setting”, DCNR said, as well as exposure to wide range of environmental career experience and the opportunity to meet conservation professionals.

Camps will be offered June 21-27 (2009; Sunday through Saturday) at Kings Gap Environmental Education and Training Center, near Carlisle PA, 108 miles west of Sanatoga village; and July 12-18 (2009; Sunday through Saturday) at the Kirby Episcopal House and Chapel, Glen Summit PA, 83 miles north of Sanatoga.

For more information and enrollment applications, call the ECO Camp Coordinator at 717-783-4356, or send an e-mail.
