Friday, May 15

Swing dancing with a live band, the Hot Patootoes, will be presented by SwingKat Entertainment from 9 p.m. to Midnight in the Ballroom On High, 310 High St., Pottstown PA. Tables and seating are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission varies with the band presented, $12-$20.

A bicycle safety rodeo for the entire family will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School,1329 Buchert Rd., Lower Pottsgrove PA. The event includes bicycle safety, bicycle exams, and helmet checks, and is free, and open to the public.

A discussion on how to plan a vacation at Disney theme parks will be featured during a seminar that begins at 10 a.m. in the offices of the American Automobile Association, 95 S. Hanover St., Pottstown PA.

A “May Madness” 3-on-3 double-elimination basketball tournament for boys and girls in Grade 6 and older will be held from 8 a.m. until completed in the gym of Pottsgrove High School, 1345 Kauffman Rd., Lower Pottsgrove PA.  A fee of $35 per team will be charged. An admission fee of $2 will be charged to spectators. Proceeds from the event benefit the Pottsgrove Boys Basketball program.

A beef-and-beer fund-raiser will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Royersford VFW on South Fourth Avenue to benefit Limerick Township Democrats. The event features a gourmet buffet with roast beef, chicken cordon bleu, pasta, Caesar salad and desserts, as well as a DJ, dancing, 50-50 drawing, door prizes and a raffle. Ballroom dancing featuring the Waltz, Cha Cha, Foxtrot, Rumba, Tango, West Coast Swing and East Coast Swing, hosted by guest DJs, will be presented by SwingKat Entertainment from 8:30-11 p.m. in the Ballroom On High, 310 High St., Pottstown PA. Admission costs $12 per person.

Sunday, May 17

The sixth annual Tour De Cure Golf Tournament fund-raiser to benefit the Pottstown Relay for Life of the American Cancer Society will be held at Linfield National Golf Club in Linfield PA.  Entry fees are $75 per golfer. The first recitals for students of the Pottstown PA-based High Street Music Company will be held beginning at 1 p.m. in Chaplin’s Music Cafe, 66 N. Main St., Spring City PA. Admission to the performances are free, and the public is invited to attend.

Country dancing with DJ Midnight Cowboy will be presented by SwingKat Entertainment from 3-6 p.m. in the Ballroom On High, 310 High St., Pottstown PA. Admission costs $10.

Olympic athletes Amy Tran, goalkeeper; Kayla Bayshore, midfielder; and Lauren Crandall, defender, will conduct a field hockey demonstration and sign autographs from 4- 6 p.m. at Longstreth Sports Academy, 28 Wells Rd., Parkerford PA. The event is free and open to the public.
