NORRISTOWN PA – Lower Pottsgrove (PA) Township Planning Commission member Michael McGroarty, running as a Republican in Tuesday’s (May 19, 2009) Pennsylvania primary elections for a job as township commissioner, was the highest vote-getter among the three people seeking positions, according to the Montgomery County (PA) Board of Elections.
Fellow Republican filer James Kaiser won the second-highest number; the sole Democrat filer, James Prendergast, was third-highest.
But most popular among those seeking township office in the primaries was incumbent tax collector and Treasurer Jennifer Marsteller. She received the most votes cast in any township race, 559.
Keith Diener was the top vote-getter of three filed as Republicans for the job of Lower Pottsgrove’s constable.
Tables showing individual party results in the contest, made available early Wednesday (May 20, 2009) from the Board of Elections website, appear below.
