POTTSTOWN PA – The magnitude and heartbreak of an automobile accident Monday night (Nov. 23, 2009) that killed two Pottsgrove High School students – Michael Cantamaglia and Andrew Case – and injured four others, is being covered extensively by local and regional news media.
Beyond that, though, the local online world is grieving. The Post’s e-mail box has been flooded with inquiries regarding the tragedy, and its servers pinged with dozens of reader searches. A list of resources is compiled below as a means of fulfilling reader requests.
Funeral services and obituaries
Arrangements for the funeral Saturday (Nov. 28, 2009) of Michael D. Cantamaglia, 16, of Barto PA, and his obituary, can be found at the website of the Catagnus Funeral Homes. The public can leave messages of condolence here also.
The obituary for Andrew C. Case, 17, of Lower Pottsgrove, can be found at the website of the Devlin-Rosmos-Kepp Funeral Home in Phoenixville PA. The public can leave messages of condolence here also. His funeral was held Friday (Nov. 27, 2009).
Grief support
The Pottsgrove School District acted quickly to offer counseling services earlier in the week for students, staff members and community residents who wanted to talk with someone about their feelings. Counselors were available at Pottsgrove High School. In addition, the district website now offers a grief support resources page.
Local grief support groups are operated by Pottstown Memorial Medical Center (PMMC), the Pottstown Family YMCA, and the Visiting Nurse Association of Pottstown and Vicinity (VNA).
- The PMMC Grief Support Group meets the second and third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Chesmont Professional Building, 13 Armand Hammer Boulevard, Pottstown PA. For more information, call 610-327-7596.
- The YMCA Grief Support Group meets the first and third Wednesdays of every months at 6:30 p.m. in the Y, 724 N. Adams St., Pottstown PA. For more information, call 610-323-7300.
- The next meeting of the VNA Bereavement Support Group is scheduled for Dec. 3 (2009; Thursday) from 6:30-8 p.m. at the VNA offices, 1963 E. High Street, Pottstown PA.

Memorials and tributes
A candlelight vigil in memory of Andrew and Michael was planned earlier in the week at the Pottsgrove High School parking lot outside the cafeteria entrance at 1345 Kauffman Rd., Pottstown PA.
