Ringing Rocks, Restaurant Hearing Topics Tonight

SANATOGA PA – Public hearings on two land development projects – the renovation and expansion of the Pottsgrove School District‘s Ringing Rocks Elementary School, and construction of a restaurant on East High Street in Sanatoga village – are scheduled for the agenda of the Lower Pottsgrove (PA) Township Board of Commissioners, which meets tonight (Monday, March 1, 2010) beginning at 6 p.m. in the municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd., Pottstown PA.

For Ringing Rocks, commissioners are seeking public comment on – and then may issue a decision regarding – the district’s application for a conditional use of the school property, 1401 Kauffman Rd., Pottstown PA, that allows it to disturb and build upon certain slopes. The school’s proposed expansion demands that some sloping land on the hillside into which the school is built will need to be removed or re-graded.

Commissioners also will hold a hearing on a proposal by Cilluffo Property Holdings LLC to build an Italian restaurant at 2209 E. High St., Sanatoga, on property currently zoned for limited commercial and office use. The currently vacant land is immediately west of the Rite-Aid Pharmacy at East High Street and North Pleasant View Road.

A variety of other business also likely will occupy the board’s time, but no information on it was available as of 6:15 a.m. today. When an agenda is posted, it usually is made available on the commissioners’ page at the township website.
