POTTSTOWN PA – Action to advertise for and schedule a public hearing on re-enactment of Lower Pottsgrove (PA) Township‘s zoning, subdivision and land development ordinances is likely to be a topic of discussion during tonight’s (Thursday, March 18, 2010) township Board of Commissioners‘ meeting at 7 in the municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd., Pottstown PA.
Township Solicitor R. Kurtz Holloway earlier this week said the board would move quickly once it received a recommendation from the township Planning Commission to approve the re-enactment. Planners gave their official OK on Monday (March 15) during their regular monthly meeting, which Holloway attended.
The renewal of such laws represents a reaction by Lower Pottsgrove and other municipalities to earlier judicial rulings elsewhere that demanded they be able to prove during litigation that their rules were correctly adopted and documented, according to township Assistant Manager Alyson Elliott.
Whatever other business the board intends to conduct is unknown. A commissioners’ meeting agenda was not available online as of 6 a.m. today. If published before the meeting, the agenda usually can be found on the township website, here.
