422 Concrete Patching Continues Through Today

Count on the usual delays, and then some.

KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Work crews from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation or its contractors continue this week to busy themselves with repairs to U.S. Route 422 between Royersford and King of Prussia, the Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Association (GVFTMA) reported Monday (May 24, 2010) on its 422Improvements.com website.

Specifically:

  • Concrete patching will be conducted on 422 westbound between U.S. Route 202 and Trooper Road through today (Wednesday, May 26) from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Federal stimulus-funded road reconstruction to 422′s west- and eastbound lanes continues between the PA Route 29 and Royersford interchanges. The work will require lane closures eastbound daily from 10 a.m. to 5 a.m.; and westbound daily from 7 p.m. to 2 p.m.

GVFTMA helps the business community and municipal, county and state officials collaborate on transportation issues affecting the Greater Valley Forge area.

Wouldn’t it be nice to know exactly how much per year is budgeted for Rt 422 maintenance and what it is spent on. Stimulus money aside what exactly does PENDOT allocate for this roadway annually and how much of it is spent on Camera’s, Electronic Billboards, and other non maintenance items?

They are setting us up to attempt to toll this road… I say toll Rout 1, 202 and 309, Blue route and Schuylkill expressway first.
