SANATOGA PA – A conditional use hearing to discuss the proposed removal of a former firefighting reservoir in the Tri-County Commerce Park on Armand Hammer Boulevard will provide a slightly earlier (6:45 p.m.) start to the second monthly meeting of the Lower Pottsgrove (PA) Board of Commissioners tonight (Thursday, July 22, 2010) at the municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd., Pottstown PA.
- This event has been added to The Post calendar.
The surprising item on the board’s regular meeting agenda, however, may be the possible resignation of the long-time chairman of the township Planning Commission, Geoffrey Dailey. It is listed as a “correspondence and information” item. The board also apparently is prepared to appoint a new member to the planning commission, Anthony Cherico.
In addition, township finance director Michele Christman is scheduled to give board members a presentation on Lower Pottsgrove’s finances as they stand at mid-year.
The agenda, which has been available since mid-day Wednesday (July 21), is available for download from the township website. The hearing and meeting are open to the public.

Concerning a couple of items on this evening’s agenda> http://www.lowerpottsgrove.org/pdf/bc/20100722bcagenda.pdf.
1. How can someone be appointed to the Planning Commission before it is officially announced that there is a vacancy? Also, if there is to be a vacancy on our Planning Commission, what ever happened to making public this vacancy so that anyone interested may apply? Is there a legal requirement to publicly advertise to fill these vacancies??
2. Additionally, if you made this vacancy public, I’m sure that there might be other LPT residents who would express an interest in serving on the Planning Commission.
