Anxious For Business, Bottom Dollar Already Hiring Staff

A career fair is scheduled in King Of Prussia.

KING OF PRUSSIA PA – The Bottom Dollar discount supermarket chain is so anxious to get its stores up-and-running in the Philadelphia suburbs, including one in Lower Pottsgrove (PA) Township, that it will start conducting employment interviews next week in King of Prussia PA, a company representative reported Tuesday (Aug. 24, 2010).

The chain won approval to start building in Lower Pottsgrove, within The Shops At Ringing Rock plaza at North Charlotte Street and School Lane, only seven days ago (Aug. 19).

A Bottom Dollar career fair has been scheduled for Monday and Tuesday (Aug. 30-31, 2010) from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days in the Dolce Valley Forge Hotel, 301 W. Dekalb Pike, King of Prussia, according to Anna Current of RCI Recruitment Solutions in Jupiter FL. In an e-mail to The Post, she said her firm is “handling logistics for marketing (the chain’s) employment opportunities.”

Accompanying promotional literature indicates next week’s fair will specifically focus on employment for the chain’s East Dekalb Pike, King of Prussia location, and not for other sites. It is looking to hire a store manager; dry goods, fresh goods, and front-end managers; an account analyst, and several sales assistants and associates.

If Bottom Dollar’s expansion plans remain on track, the Lower Pottsgrove and King of Prussia stores will be among more than 20 expected to open across the Greater Philadelphia market before year’s end and could employ several hundred people. However, Current’s e-mail did not discuss other career fairs, so it is unknown if one would be scheduled in the future closer to the Pottstown PA area.

“Bottom Dollar Food (is) a company that consists of a group of dedicated, hard-working individuals,” Current wrote, one that is “dedicated to making a positive, lasting impression on customers and employees.” The company maintains “a drug-free environment” and “conducts pre-employment drug screens,” its literature noted.

  1. Edward Cox says:

Jobs and income, tax base, competition…. It’s all good..

Now let’s see some real movement over at the Sanatoga interchange.. Mount Potsgrove is finally gone and it appears to be on track to becoming another venue of employment and commerce…

    All good…

Now we need to encourage light to moderate industry into our township to provide a stable base of manufacturing…

    The future looks encouraging, ehh?
