Ringing Rocks Ground-Breaking Set For Thursday

"No Trespassing" signs and barricades were in place Monday (Sept. 6, 2010) outside Ringing Rocks Elementary School on Kauffman Road, Pottstown PA.

POTTSTOWN PA – Even though the work of renovating Ringing Rocks Elementary School has already begun, there’s nothing like tossing a shovelful of loose dirt to make it official. That’s apparently in the planning stages, according to Pottsgrove School District spokeswomen Beth Trapani.

She sent an e-mail Monday afternoon (Sept. 6, 2010) announcing the district intended to conduct a ground-breaking ceremony on Thursday (Sept. 9) at 1:30 p.m. at the school grounds on Kauffman Road, Pottstown PA. Students of the school will be among the participants, Trapani advised, and there will be “good photos!,” she promised.

Details are expected to be released sometime Tuesday, Trapani’s e-mail reported.

Meanwhile, on the district’s website, its school buildings page finally acknowledges that the Ringing Rocks student body is temporarily relocated to the former St. Pius X High School on North Keim Street, Pottstown. The Kauffman Road address had been posted on the website during much of last week, when classes officially got under way.

Near the school entrance Monday, one dumpster had already been half-filled by workers with the tangled metal remnants of suspended ceilings.
