SANATOGA PA – The Meals On Wheels program operated from Sanatoga village by Family Services of Montgomery County is one of 23 non-profit organizations that are benefiting from the seventh annual Limerick Charity Golf Outing recently conducted by employees of Exelon Nuclear’s Limerick Generating Station, the company recently announced.

Carefully prepared hot meals for lunch await delivery by volunteers.
The golf event this year contributed $60,000 to a lengthy list of local charities, and during its history has raised more than $360,000, according to LGS Site Vice President Bill Maguire. The effort demonstrates that “Limerick employees care a great deal about the community where they live and work,” he said.
During this year’s outing, more than 200 golfers helped raise money and awareness for local charities that, besides Meals On Wheels, included Freedom Valley YMCA, Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities, Foundation for Pottstown Education, Preservation Pottstown, Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy, Salvation Army of Pottstown, Montgomery County Lands Trust, North Coventry Food Pantry, Pottstown Police Athletic League, and the Tri-County Community Network.
“This golf outing is a wonderful example of the generous spirit shown by Limerick Generating Station and its employees,” said Harry Price, board president of the Foundation for Pottstown Education. “Their commitment to education and the children of Pottstown will ensure they continue to play a vital role in our community for many years to come.”
