• Local Prescription Drug Take-Back Operating Today
  Seven area law enforcement agencies, including those in Lower Pottsgrove and Limerick (PA) Townships, are collecting unwanted prescription drugs today (Saturday). Their hope: to keep those meds out of abusers’ hands.
• County Starts Keim Street Bridge Work Monday
  Work crews from Montgomery County’s roads department will close the Keim Street bridge in Pottstown all next week while it makes some repairs. Detour routes will be in effect.
• Keep Healthy Next Week
  A weekly review of free or low-cost local seminars, support groups, screenings, tests and clinics to help you stay healthy and fit, sponsored or conducted by community health care organizations.

Friday, Sept. 24

• Contractor Agrees To End Night Work At Sanatoga Gateway
  Lower Pottsgrove and Limerick (PA) Township residents can sleep soundly again. The noise of heavy earth-moving equipment working overnight on Evergreen and West Lightcap Roads will end.
• State Says Pottsgrove Schools Make ‘Adequate Yearly Progress’
  The news for the Pottsgrove School District from recent state standardized testing results was generally favorable. But the high school did not measure up, because of a poor showing in reading scores among economically disadvantaged students.

Thursday, Sept. 23

• Company Cancels Zoning Hearing On Digital Sign
  Haines and Kibblehouse withdrew its request for a Lower Pottsgrove (PA) Township zoning hearing. It is expected to be re-scheduled at a later date.
• Stuff To Do This Weekend
  Want entertainment? The Fringe Festival in Collegeville, and Steel Magnolias in Skippack, take to the stage. Want fresh? Hit the farm markets in Boyertown, Phoenixville and Skippack. Want fun? Community days are set in Limerick and Upper Frederick. And food-gorging for a good cause is Sunday’s Carousel of Flavor in Pottstown.

Wednesday, Sept. 22

• Beep!-Beep!, No Sleep For Residents Near Gateway Site
  With Video. While many Lower Pottsgrove and Limerick Township residents slept soundly Tuesday night, owners of homes near Evergreen and West Lightcap Roads put up with the noise of heavy construction equipment at The Gateway At Sanatoga site.
• Leaders Conference Offers Valuable Business Training
  No money in this year’s business budget to provide employees with training they’ll find useful? The TriCounty chamber’s got you covered.

Tuesday, Sept. 21

• Alley To Sunnyside Ave. ‘Elephant’ In Restaurant Plans
  Lower Pottsgrove planners gave preliminary approval Monday to plans for the Bella Italia restaurant. They are unlikely to offer a final OK, however, until the developer and its neighbors reach agreement on using an alley.
• Pipeline Being Moved At Sanatoga Gateway
  Relocating an underground petroleum pipeline on property for The Gateway At Sanatoga project was requested by retailer Costco in its plans to open a store there.
• Pottsgrove American Legion Meets This Week
  The Sanatoga-based group will have plenty to discuss. Its members were among participants in memorial ceremonies during the past two weeks, and are planning their next activities for disabled veterans in Spring City.

  The idea: keep kids healthy by examining them, and determining their needs, before they become ill. Appointments are necessary.
