Keeping An Eye On All That Water Around Pottstown

POTTSTOWN PA – With several inches of rain having fallen – at times heavily and severe – throughout the week, property owners near rivers, streams, and creeks across the greater Pottstown area were keeping a close watch on rising water levels. Helping them stay current was WaterWatch, a web-based service of the U.S. Geological Survey.

As of early Friday morning WaterWatch reported the potential for high-to-very-high, but not flood stage, water levels at the following locations, identified by blue circles from the bottom right corner of the above map and moving clockwise to the top right:

  • Schuylkill River at Norristown PA,
  • Valley Creek at the PA Turnpike bridge near Valley Forge PA,
  • French Creek near Phoenixville PA,
  • Schuylkill River at Pottstown PA,
  • Perkiomen Creek at Graterford PA, and
  • East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek near Schwenksville PA.
