More Rain Means More Pottsgrove Sports Postponements

POTTSTOWN PA – Thursday’s (Sept. 30, 2010) continued rain – sometimes just a drizzle, sometimes a downpour – again put a damper on Pottsgrove School District sporting activities, Athletic Director Gary DeRenzo reported in two e-mails. Here’s what has been re-scheduled after being postponed Thursday afternoon:

  • Girls Varsity Tennis vs. Owen J. Roberts, moved to Oct. 5 (Tuesday) at 3:30 p.m. at Owen J. Roberts;
  • 9th Field Hockey vs. Boyertown West, moved to Oct. 12 (Tuesday), no time or location given;
  • 9th Grade Football vs. Boyertown West, moved to Oct. 4 (Monday) at 3:45 p.m. at Boyertown West; and
  • Boys Varsity Soccer vs. Boyertown, moved to Oct. 5 at 4 p.m. at Boyertown.

A make-up date, time and location has yet to be scheduled for the Middle School cross-country meet against Pottstown.

Two events postponed Thursday will not be made up. They are:

  • High School Girls Golf vs. Perkiomen Valley, and
  • JV Golf vs. Upper Perkiomen.

The AccuWeather forecast for Friday (Oct. 1) calls for moderate improvement during the day. Rain is expected in the morning, with clouds breaking in the afternoon. The high temperature should reach 72 degrees. Friday evening should be clear, with a low temperature overnight of 45 degrees.
