More Rain, More Rescheduling For Pottsgrove Sports

POTTSTOWN PA – Tuesday’s (Oct. 5, 2010) continuing rain again played havoc with some parts of the Pottsgrove School District‘s sports schedule.

In an e-mail update received from district Athletic Director Gary DeRenzo late Tuesday morning, he announced the following postponements:

  • High School Boys Soccer (varsity only) vs. Boyertown, rescheduled for next Wednesday (Oct. 13, 2010) at 4 p.m.;
  • A non-league High School Boys Soccer game with Wyomissing will be bumped from Oct. 13 to accommodate the Boyertown change. DeRenzo did not mention if it, too, would be rescheduled.
  • High School Girls Tennis vs OJ Roberts at OJR, rescheduled for Wednesday (Oct. 6) at 3:30 p.m.;
  • 8th Grade Football at Boyertown West, rescheduled for Wednesday (Oct. 6) at 3:30 p.m.;
  • 7th Grade Football vs OJ Roberts at Pottsgrove MS, rescheduled for Thursday (Oct. 7) at 3:45 p.m.; and
  • 9th Grade Field Hockey vs Phoenixville is expected to be rescheduled, but a time and date have yet to be determined.

As of Tuesday at noon, DeRenzo added, the district still intended to schedule its High School Girls Soccer matches during the evening in the Falcons’ high school stadium. The JV game will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the team’s senior recognition program and varsity game at 7 p.m.
