Rain Postponed Seven Pottsgrove Sports Events

POTTSTOWN PA – The rain that began Thursday (Oct. 14, 2010) at mid-day and continued throughout the night put another damper on sports activities involving Pottsgrove School District teams, district Athletic Director Gary DeRenzo reported by e-mail.

Seven different contests were postponed; six have already been rescheduled. They include:

  • HS Boys Soccer, varsity only, moved to Saturday (Oct. 16) at 12:30 p.m. at Pope John Paul High School;
  • HS Field Hockey, to today (Friday, Oct. 15) at 3:45 p.m. at Pope John Paul High School;
  • HS Girls Soccer vs. Pope John Paul, to Monday (Oct. 18) with varsity play at 3:45 p.m. followed by the JV game, both at Pottsgrove;
  • 9th Grade Field Hockey, to Monday (Oct. 18; no time specified) at Methacton High School;
  • 9th Grade Football vs. Pope John Paul, to Tuesday (Oct. 19) at 3:45 p.m., in Pottsgrove stadium; and
  • Middle School Cross Country to Tuesday (Oct. 19) at 3:45 p.m. at Spring Ford Middle School, which also represents a change in location.

Yet to be determined is a date and time for 7th and 8th Grade Girls Soccer at Pottstown, DeRenzo wrote.
