Pottsgrove School Directors Plan Reorganization Tonight

Geothermal energy wells, drilled in a field on the west side of Ringing Rocks Elementary, may be part of a report tonight to the Pottsgrove school board.

POTTSTOWN PA – The Pottsgrove School District Board of School Directors is scheduled to get its act together again.

The board annually conducts a reorganizational meeting, electing (or re-electing, as it may be) a new president and vice president, and appointing committee members as it heads into a new year. That will happen tonight (Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010) as it meets at 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Pottsgrove High School, Kauffman Road, Pottstown PA.

The meeting is open to the public. A copy of the board agenda is available for download from the district website, here.

With those formalities out of the way, the board will then open a regular business meeting. It expects to receive its usual monthly update from district Clerk Of The Works Tom McGrady on reconstruction progress at Ringing Rocks Elementary School, where the installation of its geothermal energy well field currently is among the most visible projects.

Energy of another kind – in this case, electricity – also is planned to occupy some board time. As energy company deregulation approaches Jan. 1 (2011) in Pennsylvania, both residential and commercial property owners must choose electrical energy suppliers. District administrators will recommend to directors their acceptance of a proposed agreement to buy electricity from Direct Energy, a supplier based in Ontario, Canada.
