Three Reader Enhancements Added To The Post

Managing Editor Joe Zlomek.

SANATOGA PA – Three improvements and reader enhancements were installed Saturday (Jan. 1, 2010) on the website of The Sanatoga Post, according to Managing Editor Joe Zlomek.

  • Local restaurant links. A new category of web links, under the heading “Restaurants,” was added to the right side of The Post’s Food archive page, here. The first entries under this new heading are for downtown Pottstown PA restaurants featured on the “Dine Downtown” visitor handout created by the Pottstown Downtown Improvement District Authority. Others will be added as time permits. If you’re scouting for some place new to dine out, this is your starting point.
    • Readers or restaurant owners can submit suggested links by e-mail, here. Submissions should include the name of the restaurant, its full web address (URL), its location (for example, “Pottstown”), and a 10-or-fewer words description of the fare served.
  • Recipes and food blog feed. Also on the Food archive page, here, The Post revised its RSS feed for food and recipe blogs appearing under the heading “Today’s Best Dishes From FoodPress.” The feed now updates automatically, with most recently published items about food and cooking appearing daily at the top of the column. If you’re into cooking at home, or sampling different dishes, the FoodPress blogs offer something new every day.
  • Additional calendars. Several new links were added to the “Other Local Calendars” heading found on the Upcoming Events archive page, here. The page’s primary feature – The Post’s continually refreshed events calendar – is consistently the most viewed item on the entire website. It attracts dozens of visits daily. “We know, however, that no single calendar can be comprehensive,” Zlomek said, “so The Post also gives readers the opportunity to connect to 17 different calendars on other websites.” Others will be added as time permits.

The Post is a dynamic and evolving news medium,” Zlomek noted. “We’ll try to keep readers informed as changes are made, so they can take full advantage of what’s available across western Montgomery County.”
