‘Annie’ Preview Rocked The House … Uh, Cafeteria

A SEA OF ANGRY FACES, IN A GOOD WAY – Dozens of students at Pottsgrove Middle School, 1351 N. Hanover St., Pottstown PA, who are cast members in its upcoming April 2011 production of the musical “Annie,” gave a preview of the show Tuesday (Feb 8, 2011) to the Pottsgrove School District Board of School Directors. They packed into the school cafeteria to sing and mug their way through a number in which they play destitute citizens being cheated by those in power of a better life. Led by music teacher Carole Bean (below at top left), they threatened, scowled, pointed, shook, shouted and jeered in harmony, and were rewarded with enthusiastic applause. The show is scheduled for April 7-9 (Thursday through Saturday) at the middle school auditorium.
