The dome of the State Capitol
HARRISBURG PA – Several hundred Pennsylvania college students descended Monday (March 28, 2011) on Harrisburg to protest Gov. Tom Corbett’s proposed budget cuts to higher education, The Pennsylvania Independent online news service reported.
Buses from each of the 14 Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education colleges and universities arrived for the day-long protest. It coincided with a budget hearing on 52-percent cuts in taxpayer funds for state-sponsored higher education.
