School Board OKs Personnel Items Affecting 25 Positions

POTTSTOWN PA – Personnel actions recommended by the Pottsgrove School District administration were approved unanimously and without discussion last Tuesday (May 10, 2011) by the district Board of School Directors.

Approved for retirement:

  • Carol Youse, instructional assistant at Pottsgrove Middle School.

Approved as district substitute employees:

  • Donna Shanley, Carol Youse, Dawn Nardello, Jennifer Valentino, Todd Speilman and Courtney Saunders, teachers, $100 daily;
  • Allison Bainbridge, Eric Landes, Ryan Bittle, Samantha Schneider, Richard Martz, Jennifer Kohler, Nicholas Faulkner and Amanda Ayer, custodians, $10.85 hourly each; and
  • Daniel Lanko, assistant, $9.21-$9.76 hourly.

Approved for hiring as teachers, assistants or substitutes in the extended shool year autistic program, at $31 hourly for teachers and $9.76 hourly for assistants:

  • Dana Nardello, Corrine Kleege, Robin Gadsby, Billie Hoch, and Judy Bransfield.

Approved for placement as a student teacher:

  • Mary Holleran of West Chester University, supervised by Erik Sawchuk, for Lower Pottsgrove Elementary, from Aug. 31-Dec. 15, 2011.

Approved to attend conferences or meetings:

  • Director of Pupil Services Ann Myers, and Supervisor of Special Education Michelle MacLuckie, to attend the “2011 Special Education Leadership Summer Academy” at a cost of $1,591, without substitute coverage.
