Young Pottsgrove ‘Inventors’ Conclude This Year’s Camp

THEY HAD FUN, AND LEARNED A FEW THINGS TOO – The 2011 session of Camp Invention – a five-day children’s summer camp held at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School that focused on science, engineering, technology and math – ended just 12 days ago (July 15, 2011), but counselors Elaine Armstrong, Jen Egan, Brisha Armstrong and Kelly Dunn report the kids are still talking about their experiences. More than 40 youngsters (top) participated in fun and usually imaginative activities like creating a “Rube Goldberg machine” (bottom left) to unfurl a banner or testing how much weight rolls of paper might support (bottom right). A similar paid-attendance camp was scheduled this year in the Pottstown School District as well.
