POTTSTOWN PA – On the heels of an earthquake felt earlier this week across much of the Northeast, residents of greater Pottstown and elsewhere are now being warned to prepare for the possibility of a different natural crisis: Hurricane Irene.
The storm system is rapidly developing, and some of its possible tracks could directly impact portions of western Montgomery County. Worries about what may lie ahead had social media outlets buzzing. Here’s what area people were saying on Twitter, Facebook and other networks:

Hurricane Irene is still too far from the U S coastline for forecasters to predict with certainty what track it will take. But potential paths bring it close enough that it could impact parts of Pennsylvania this weekend. The five day forecast cone for Hurricane Irene includes much of the eastern ha… |

Hurricane preparation. Pick one: I am 1) doing nothing because it is going out to sea 2) doing nothing because I just got over the earthquake 3) wishing I bought one of those wind up emergency radios 4) getting canned food because God forbid I lose a lb. 5) I will drive to a motel in Pennsylvania where they have a generator, because there is no place on the east coast that doesn’t have a hurricane, and it is too late to drive to Ohio. |

I noticed that the gas stations went up on their gas prices recently since it looks like Hurricane Irene is gonna cause a lot of damage. A lot of families might lose their residences and all these bastards can do is look to make more money. Did they forget about the damn recession? Its time to help them, not hurt them. God bless America. And Pray for our military. Amen. |

First, I am moving back to Pennsylvania, you guys are having all the fun! You got major storms, floods, earthquakes, and now a hurricane coming!! All we get in Phoenix is 100 degree weather from May to Nov. Second, Don’t head to the shore this weekend. I worry about some of you who know no more about the weather news than you do Michele Bachman. It should be interesting on the east coast this weekend. |
