African Performers Arriving Friday At Lower Pottsgrove

The troupe during a February 2011 performance in Seattle WA

POTTSTOWN PA – An African Dance And Drum Troupe, a Senegalese group touring the U.S. this year, will be the featured performers Friday (Nov. 4, 2011) during the Family Fun Night that begins at 6:30 p.m. with refreshments in the lobby of Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School, Buchert Road, Pottstown PA.

The four-person troupe combines African drumming, dancing, acrobatics, stilt-walking, breathtaking costumes and innovative choreography to portray the songs, drumming, folk tales and traditions of native Africa. The free entertainment is being sponsored by the Lower Pottsgrove Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO).

The program is open to all school students and their families. All children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the show, according to the PTO.
