The municipal building

SANATOGA PA – Expect it to be busy tonight (Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011), its last official meeting night of 2011, when the Lower Pottsgrove (PA) Township Board of Commissioners gathers at 7 p.m. in the municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd., Pottstown PA. It’s open to the public.

Topping the commissioners’ list of things to get done is approval of the 2012 budget, and the accompanying ordinances that set the real property tax rate, assessments for street lights (for those who own or live near them), and a broad list of so-called “nuisance taxes” for the next 12 months.

There are year-end housekeeping items, too. The board is scheduled to approve meeting dates during 2012 for itself, the Sewer Authority, the Parks and Recreation Board, and the Board of Planning Commissioners. Also scheduled are two re-appointments each of members to the Planning Commission and Building Code Appeals Board, and one to the authority.

Monthly reports from the police chief, fire departments and the fire marshal, parks and recreation, the township engineer, treasurer and solicitor, and Lower Pottsgrove’s representatives to the Pottstown Area Council of Governments and the Regional Planning Commission also are expected.
