Get A Seat Early For Tonight’s Pottsgrove Board Meeting

SURE TO BE MORE TONIGHT – The crowd of Pottsgrove School District residents and parents that turned out for the Board of School Directors’ Feb. 14 meeting, above, is likely to seem small in comparison to the number of people expected for the board meeting tonight (Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012) at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Pottsgrove High School, Kauffman Road, Pottstown PA. President Michael Neiffer has indicated he may ask his colleagues to approve one of two redistricting choices to balance the student population across the district’s three elementary schools. The first, and most controversial, is an administration-backed proposal to create grade-level centers that would replace the schools’ current K-5 structure. That plan is heavily opposed by a parents’ group. The second is to redraw attendance boundaries to temporarily shift the classroom loads. Directors may also consider implementing the boundaries’ change now, and defer the centers’ plan for further study.
