SANATOGA PA – A juvenile female was charged with assault, narcotics possession and related offenses Monday afternoon (Feb. 27, 2012) by Lower Pottsgrove (PA) Township police, after they responded to reports of a disturbance in the Community Service Foundation and Buxmont Academy, 1460 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown PA.
The girl’s identity is being withheld because of her young age, Ofc. David Slothower reported.
An incident in which the girl was alleged to have pushed one of her teachers at the academy, an alternative school, brought police there at about 1:25 p.m. During their investigation, police allegedly discovered drugs and related items on the student, who Slothower said was then detained and taken to the Montgomery County Youth Center in Norristown PA pending a hearing.
No injuries were reported.
The academy website says it provides programs for troubled and at-risk youths in eastern Pennsylvania. Its “students and clients are boys and girls, grades 6 to 12, struggling with a wide range of behavioral and emotional problems,” it added.
