The K-2 centers' boundary map approved Tuesday by the school board. Students who live west of North Hanover Street and Orlando Road will attend West Pottsgrove Elementary; those east will attend Ringing Rocks
POTTSTOWN PA – What are being labeled by the Pottsgrove School District as “community connection meetings” intended to help ensure parents’ and students’ “seamless transition” from its current elementary school configuration to one of grade-level education centers are scheduled during the next two weeks on three different dates.
The meetings were announced during Tuesday night’s (March 13, 2012) Board of School Directors‘ meeting by Assistant Superintendent Shellie Feola, who appears to have been given the task by Superintendent Dr. Bradley Landis of making the change to centers work smoothly.
The meetings, at which the district will solicit public comments on how to implement the transition with fewest problems, all are set for 6:30 p.m. on:
- Thursday (March 22), at Ringing Rocks Elementary School, Kauffman Road, Pottstown PA;
- March 28 (Wednesday), at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary, Buchert Road; and
- March 29 (Thursday), at West Pottsgrove Elementary, Grosstown Road, Stowe PA.
All will be held in the respective schools’ cafeterias.
- Download an Adobe Acrobat notice about the meetings, distributed Wednesday by the district via e-mail, from The Post‘s Resources Page, here.
Community connections were only part of an extensive calendar of consultations, advice-seeking seminars, and coordinating efforts introduced by Feola following the board’s decision Tuesday to use North Hanover Street and Orlando Road as the boundary line to determine which children in grades K-2 will attend either Ringing or West in the 2012-2013 school year.
