POTTSTOWN PA – An advance copy of what is purported to be the list of new “administration and professional staff” assignments for 2012-2013 at Pottsgrove School District elementary schools, as part of its move to grade-level education centers, was received Sunday (April 1, 2012) by The Post, but the four-page document is not being offered to readers because it could not be authenticated.

The list is expected to be made available later today (Monday, April 2) to the general public from the “Elementary Redisticting Information” page of the district’s website, here, according to Assistant Superintendent Shellie Feola. A time for its release was not announced.
- Editor’s note: The list is now available for download, here. It is identical to the one The Post received Sunday.
After the Board of School Directors‘ meeting Tuesday (March 27), Feola angrily accused The Post of “making assumptions” in reporting personnel aspects of the redistricting story. While The Post stands by the accuracy of its reporting on those matters to date, and verified its reports with several sources (albeit not Feola), it is nonetheless sensitive to her charges. Although the list it received appears to be genuine and was provided by a known source, it could not be proven to be issued by the district and so was withheld.
The list that was delivered to The Post by e-mail contains first and last names, job titles or teaching positions, and building assignments of 57 individuals at Lower Pottsgrove, 42 at Ringing, and 34 at West. It also notes that four of those named were being transferred from the middle school to the elementaries.
It also specifies the same principals as continuing at each school. During the district’s “Community Connections” meetings last week at Lower and West, parents in attendance heard rumors – quickly quashed by administrators – that principals would be changed.
The district’s list was scheduled to have been provided to teachers and other staff members last Friday (March 30). Administrators said assignments were made based in part on requests submitted seven days earlier (March 23) by employees affected, but also in part on Pottsgrove’s own evaluative criteria, which has not been disclosed.
Nine positions at the three schools are designated on the list given to The Post to be filled by “new hire(s).” The district transition calendar presented by Feola indicates any open positions will be posted by the district by Wednesday (April 4). Interviewing and hiring to fill them will be conducted during April and May, according to the calendar.
The potential change in positions among Pottsgrove employees is made necessary by the directors’ Feb. 28 unanimous decision to redistrict by converting the three elementary schools, all of which currently house grades K-5, to two centers (West and Ringing) that cater to grades K-2 only, and a third center (Lower) for grades 3-5.

Thank you for your continued reporting on this issue. I have found all of your articles to be accurate, timely and unbiased. I don’t think Ms. Feola is aware of some of the things she says and she’s definitely not aware of the message that her very poor body language gives.
Feola does not know what poor statements she makes in public anyway. She seems confused at times anyway… 3 times she call Lower by a different name at one meeting where landis HAD to clarify it.
I have appreciated your reporting, It is very good and balanced… You are critical of statements from all people
Thank you
And the List is up on the district website
