SANATOGA PA – Some days it just doesn’t pay to pick up the telephone.
Brian Nicolosi, 27, a resident of Walnut Ridge Estates on Buchert Road in Sanatoga, was arrested last Thursday (May 31, 2012) by Lower Pottsgrove Township police and charged as an alleged fugitive from justice, after it was learned he was being sought by law enforcers in another state.
The arrest followed a phone conversation between Nicolosi and the department.
Just who called who, or why, wasn’t detailed in the press release issued by Ofc. Dan Kienle. He simply wrote police “had contact with (Nicolosi) by phone.” During the discussion, however, Kienle said he discovered Nicolosi was wanted in New York state on an outstanding arrest warrant in connection with an alleged burglary.
Without tipping what he’d found out, Kienle reported he was later able to convince Nicolosi to visit the department offices at the municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd. He was taken into custody when he showed up, the officer added.
Nicolosi received preliminary arraignment in the Sanatoga courtroom of District Justice Edward Kropp Sr., with bail set at $50,000. He is being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Eagleville until he attends an extradition hearing in the county Court of Common Pleas, according to the report.
