The (78th Army) Band Plays On, Again, In Sanatoga

The (78th Army) Band Plays On, Again, In Sanatoga

SANATOGA PA – In their last show of a two-week tour, members of the 78th Army Band based in Fort Dix NJ returned Wednesday night (July 11, 2012) to Sanatoga Park on South Sanatoga Road to perform in the Lower Pottsgrove Township summer concert series.

The band, and its many variations – concert orchestra, marching unit, jazz ensemble, and rock group – played before a smaller and more intimate crowd than its debut last year. About 200 people attended. But those in the audience commented the spacious park and band shell felt friendly and inviting, and they certainly responded to the band’s music. They clapped. They laughed. They cheered.

I think this needs better advertisement. I didn’t know of it until after the fact.

These folks travel a long ways from Fort Mcnair to provide these concerts.

    They are most appreciated.
