LIMERICK PA – A substantial and intense fire at the premises of Potty Queen, the portable toilet rental and sanitation business operated at 3115 Sanatoga Rd. – near Evergreen Road and just northeast of the entrance to Exelon Nuclear’s Limerick Generating Station – destroyed a maintenance garage Friday night (July 13, 2012), The Limerick Patch online news service reported.
“The oblong, corrugated metal building at Potty Queen” that housed trucks being serviced “was almost completely obliterated by the fire, which produced a thick plume of dark smoke that could be seen for miles as daylight faded,” according to The Patch. Firefighters from the Sanatoga and Ringing Hill companies in Lower Pottsgrove, as well as those from Limerick, Royersford, Perkiomen, North Coventry, Liberty and Ridge, responded to the scene.
The fire was said to be under control by 9:45 p.m, and no injuries were reported. However, The Patch said “firefighting efforts were slightly impeded by the lack of fire hydrants in the vicinity of the fire. Tanker trucks were seen shuttling between the fire scene and a water source adjacent to the Costco store on Evergreen Road.”
The cause of the fire was under investigation.

Interesting. This was adjacent to LNS.. They had no water they could spare???
Limerick FD and Sanatoga need to work something out. There’s going to be some additional buildings up in that are soon and water should be available via hydrants…
How about getting Excelon to chip in for some hydrants and piping??
