SANATOGA PA – It didn’t take a GPS unit to find other missing GPS units … just some regular police work, the Lower Pottsgrove Police Department reports.
Global positioning satellite devices help guide drivers to their destinations. Some that were reported as having been stolen during June from the area of Mitch and Rhoads roads in Lower Pottsgrove and New Hanover townships turned up Sunday (Aug. 12, 2012) at about 3:20 a.m., when police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.
During the stop, Ofc. Christopher DiPiano reported, the driver (who was not identified by name or address) was found to be in possession of the allegedly stolen units and several others that “remain unclaimed.”
DiPiano, the investigating officer, is looking for anyone who may have information about the units, or who had items stolen from their vehicles overnight during late June around the area of Mitch and Rhoads. Call him at 610-326-1508.
