SANATOGA PA – A Pottstown man was arrested Wednesday (Aug. 29, 2012) by Lower Pottsgrove Township police in connection with alleged burglaries during the past eight days on Lynn Drive and Valley Lane.
Christopher Sautter, 25, has been charged with two counts each of burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property, theft by deception, and criminal mischief, according to township Det. Joseph Campbell. He is being held in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Eagleville, awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for Sept. 7 at 9 a.m.
The daytime residential burglaries for which Sautter was charged were said by Campbell to have occurred Tuesday (Aug. 28) in the 900 block of Valley Lane, and Aug. 24 (Friday) in the 1300 block of Lynn Drive.
In the most recent incident, Campbell said a resident of the Valley Lane property arrived home Tuesday at about 8:15 a.m. to find a male inside. The intruder fled, reportedly with various items of jewelry from the home’s bedroom, and subsequently was said to have been seen driving away in a silver-colored Hyundai Elantra. Police later recovered evidence from the scene they say connected the incident to Sautter.
In the Aug. 24 incident, Campbell reported a resident of the Lynn Drive property returned home a day earlier, after having been away for several hours, to find the front door unlocked. On the following morning jewelry was discovered lying on a bed, and the owners determined someone had rummaged through a jewelry box and other items on a dresser.
In addition, a trash can turned upside-down was found against the rear of the home beneath what Campbell said was an unlocked window. Police believe the perpetrator entered through it; stolen were various pieces of jewelry and coins.
During the investigation, according to Campbell, it was learned Sautter pawned some of the allegedly stolen items at an area merchant.

Lower Pottsgrove Police continuing its cleanup of the riff raff in our area. We should all be proud of our officers and their ongoing efforts to keep our area safe and secure.
