SANATOGA PA – Four 18-year-old males were arrested early Saturday morning (Sept. 8, 2012) by Lower Pottsgrove Township Police on charges related to alleged egg-throwing incidents involving cars driving through the 1800 block of Buchert Road, Ofc. Matthew Meitzler reported.
Arrested for propulsion of missiles onto the highway, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, scattering rubbish, consumption of alcohol by a minor, and criminal conspiracy were Timothy Woodruff, Donald Johnson Jr., and Bryan Austin, all of Pottstown, and Ryan Nelson of Reading, according to Meitzler’s report.
Drivers complained to the department earlier Saturday their vehicles were being egged as they drove over Buchert. When officers arrived they found broken eggs and what they said was “other evidence left behind by the defendants” on a grassy area of property that is part of the Buchert Ridge Community senior residential complex.
They also found, and followed, footprints in the wet grass that led from the area to the rear yard of a home at 1977 Summit Way.
That’s where officers say they made contact with the four and, during the encounter, found the four. Police allege they saw beer cans inside, and smelled marijuana emanating from, the home. They determined that all four were age 18 and allegedly consuming alcohol, and in later searching the home officers said they found alcoholic beverages, a small amount of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
It was during the course of their investigation, police said, that they determined the four “were responsible for the egg-throwing.”
