Art Of The Free Throw Became Olympic Passion Friday

Art Of The Free Throw Became An Olympic Passion Friday

JUST A LITTLE EASY UP AND IN – Part of Friday’s (Sept. 14, 2012) Olympic Games celebration at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School on Buchert Road, Pottstown, involved making basketball free throws at the hoops outside the school’s north (main) entrance. For most of the competitors, though – all of them in grades 3-5 – the distance between the ground and the net was a tad too daunting. Volunteer monitors had to experiment with moving the free-throw line forward just enough to ensure everyone had at least a chance of success. Students seemed to enjoy themselves at the day-long event, which was planned to reintroduce the school in its new context as an educational center in the Pottsgrove School District. The Post offers a gallery of 34 photos, below.
