Pottsgrove Salutes Area Veterans At Tonight's Game

POTTSTOWN PA – Members of the Pottsgrove High School Falcons’ football team, their parents and community volunteers are encouraging Pottsgrove School District residents to attend tonight’s (Friday, Sept. 28 2012) varsity game against Spring-Ford Area Senior High, to support both the school and “show our deep appreciation” to active and retired military veterans “for the sacrifices they’ve made to keep our country safe.”

The game starts at 7 p.m., and will include several activities to recognize and honor veterans. One of them will be the formation of a “Tunnel of Valor” with which veterans will welcome Falcon players on to the field. Participation is voluntary; those who wish to join the tunnel should report to the stadium’s main gate on School Lane at 6:30 p.m.

The cost of game admission also has been reduced for veterans, to only $3.

Additionally, members of the Pottsgrove cheerleading squad are scheduled to distribute miniature American flags to all who enter at the main gate. Spectators will be treated at half-time, too, by moving up ceremonies and performances by Pottsgrove’s marching and middle school bands.
