So Long, Drugs! Township Police Fill Boxes In Take-Back

COLLECTING PRESCRIPTIONS FOR SAFETY’S SAKE – Members of the Lower Pottsgrove Township Police Department were among those representing several area law enforcement agencies that participated Saturday (Sept. 29, 2012) in the federal Drug Enforcement Administration’s national Drug Take-Back Day. Residents from across western Montgomery County arrived at the Sanatoga Fire Company firehouse on East High Street, Sanatoga PA (above), and at designated locations elsewhere, to drop off and dispose of unwanted or unused prescription medications still taking up space in their cabinets and closets. Prescription drugs are a growing source of drug abuse among teens, and their disposal by police eliminates both health and pollution concerns. Lower Pottsgrove’s team reported it collected several bags and boxes filled with items (below) that will be safely incinerated, and thanked the public for its assistance. Another collection may be scheduled next spring.
